Solutions for Your Career and Job Search
How to stop sounding like every other applicant.
How to develop a cover letter that a) connects the company mission of your target employer to your personal mission and goals and b) connects the skills in the job description to what you bring to the table.
Why, if your cover letter contains more adjectives and adverbs than verbs and nouns, you’re already doing it wrong. (And it probably does…)
“Consistently. Creatively. Efficiently. Effectively. Reliably. Resourcefully. Significantly. Successfully.”
Sound familiar? These are adverbs: meaningless filler that take up vital resume real estate and hurt your cause.
How to excavate like an archeologist and write your professional narrative, no matter how disjointed, random, or nonsensical you think your career has been! You've got amazing experience. You’re just not telling the right story.
How to learn the why do you love me? technique to writing cover letters.
How to strategically read job descriptions to decode what the hiring manager wants to know.
How to reframe your resume as accomplishments, not job duties.
How to answer any interview question you will be asked – there is actually a technique to this that’s rooted in psychology and political strategy! – and sound intelligent and well prepared doing it.
How to write not what the company can do for you, but what you can do for the company (which is what JFK almost said).
How to identify your negative parameters.
How to use your “negative parameters” to maintain discipline and resist temptation to take the wrong job with the right offer. Instead, you will learn how to see it for what it is: a distraction in your path to the right job and the right offer.
And of course…
How to identify your joy adjacencies so you can spend more time doing work that gives you energy and joy, and does not leave you feeling drained and depleted.

It’s hard to overstate how involved I get with my clients’ process.
At a bare minimum, I spend one hour preparing before each call, one hour on each call, and then another hour after each call just to write up the notes, next steps, assignments, and assessments as needed — which varies from client to client.
There’s also a lot of asynchronous collaboration and document preparation that racks up to hours of heads-down time positioning you for success.
In addition, we’re in communication throughout the engagement. For example, you can hit me up with questions or send job links my way for feedback.
You’re never alone. That’s why I call this a partnership. I get deeply invested in your progress, and tailor my service to your individual needs.
How I'll Partner With You
The first step is always the consultation, a 20-minute phone call at no charge to mutually assess whether we are a good fit for one another. Much of the success of a consulting engagement rides on how well you get on with your consultant and whether you share a similar outlook. I only take on clients whom I am confident I can help, and you should be similarly discerning about the consultants you consider hiring.
During this consultation, I’ll give you the opportunity to ask me some questions so you can get a sense for whether you’d like to continue.
After the consultation, I’ll follow up with a Memorandum of Understanding describing my service, my fees, my cancelation policy, what I expect from you, and what you can expect from me.
After you sign the MOU, I’ll send you an intake survey to gather a baseline understanding of where you are in your career and your future goals, in order to better tailor my services to your needs.
We will schedule a first phone call, before which I’ll ask you to share your existing job application materials.
If you selected one of my premium services, I’ll also send you a Factor Analysis worksheet. This exercise goes deep into the factors of your life (including work, relationships, and extracurriculars) to produce a self-inventory of those factors that bring you energy, versus those that drain you. The results are often profoundly illuminating in guiding you toward making more joy adjacent career choices.
Over the length of our consulting engagement, whether that’s Table Stakes (one phone call), Strategy (three phone calls), or Discovery (five phone calls), we will explore and tackle difficult and critically-important questions, jointly edit and rewrite your resume and cover letter so that you learn exactly how to write your own effective materials even after our engagement is over, and prepare an interview strategy specific to your job search goals.
Throughout, you have access to me via chat to answer any questions you may have, challenges that arise, or doubts you need to dispel. I truly see this as a partnership; your goals become mine.
After we conclude the engagement, I’ll send you a survey to gather your feedback so I can keep improving my work for others.
